The Work We Take On

Most of what we see in this area comes down to the same handful of problems: a torsion spring that's given out, an opener that's quit mid-cycle, rollers worn down to the bearing, or a track knocked out of line.

Older steel sectional hardware

Housing in this service area was mostly built between 1976 and 2013, with the bulk of it going up during the 1980s and 90s, so we spend a lot of time on hardware from that era - steel sectional doors, standard torsion setups, and openers that have usually been replaced once or twice already. We work on repair and replacement both.

Repair versus replacement calls

If a spring job will keep a door running another decade, we say so. If the door itself is at the end of its life - bent panels, a broken bottom seal from frost, a track that's rusted through - we'll tell you that too, and we won't talk you into a fix that's going to call us back out in six months.

Custom door exclusions

We don't do fabrication work or custom architectural doors. If you're after something outside standard residential sectional doors, we'll say that up front instead of taking the job and figuring it out on your truck.

The Areas We Cover

We're based at 101 E Front St, in the Heart of Missoula area, and most of our calls come from within a few miles of there. That covers Westside (about 1 mile NNE), Northside and Western Montana (both roughly 2 miles ENE/E), Franklin to the Fort (2 miles SSW), the University District (2 miles SE), and the Rattlesnake neighborhoods - Lower Rattlesnake around 3 miles E, Upper Rattlesnake around 3 miles NE.

Farther out we cover Farviews/Pattee Canyon (3 miles SSE), Moose Can Gully (4 miles S), Grant Creek (4 miles N), Miller Creek (4 miles SSW), and Orchard Homes (3 miles). We also take calls from East Missoula (4 miles), Bonner-West Riverside and Bonner (6 miles E), Wye (7 miles), and Lolo (8 miles).

Frenchtown (15 miles), Clinton (16 miles), and Florence (17 miles) are on the edge of what we'll drive for - call first and we'll tell you honestly whether it makes sense for your job or whether you're better served closer to home.

Our team

Who You Are Dealing With

A brown house with a brown garage door and snow on the ground.

This is a garage door repair outfit, not a call center that dispatches whoever's closest. When you call, you're talking to someone who knows what's likely wrong with a door built in the 80s versus one built in 2005, because that's most of what's sitting in driveways around here.

The median household income across this service area runs about $81,591, and roughly 3,810 of the 7,500 households here own their house rather than rent it. That matters to how we price and how we talk about a job: an owner paying for their own repair wants a straight answer on whether to fix the spring or replace the whole door, not an upsell.

Winters here are genuinely cold, and that's not filler - cold changes garage door hardware. Steel contracts, lubricant stiffens, and a spring that was already marginal tends to let go on the coldest morning of the year, not a mild one. We factor that into what we recommend, especially on older doors that haven't had the hardware serviced in years.

Contacting Us

Call 14062964145 to reach us directly. We're at 101 E Front St, Missoula, MT 59802, which puts us close to the Heart of Missoula area and within a short drive of most of the neighborhoods we cover.

Describing the symptom

When you call, tell us what the door is doing - won't open, opens partway, makes a bang when it goes up, opener runs but the door doesn't move - and we can usually tell you over the phone whether it sounds like a spring, a cable, or the opener itself.

Bringing the right parts

That helps us bring the right parts on the first trip instead of a second one. We don't carry every part for every door built since the 1970s.

Discontinued hardware replacement

If your door is old enough that the hardware is no longer made, we'll say so and talk through whether a compatible replacement part makes sense or whether it's time to replace the section or the door.

Questions

Common questions

Do you work on garage doors outside the main Missoula area?

Yes, within reason. We regularly cover areas from Westside out to Lolo, roughly 8 miles away. Places like Frenchtown, Clinton, and Florence are 15 to 17 miles out - we'll still take the call, but check with us first so we can be upfront about scheduling.

My garage door opener is older than my house's last owner - do you have parts for it?

It depends on the age and brand. A lot of the houses here were built in the 80s and 90s, and openers from that era are often past the point where parts are stocked. We'll tell you straight if a repair part isn't available and whether a new opener makes more sense than hunting for old stock.

Why did my spring break in the middle of winter?

Cold makes it worse. Steel torsion springs lose some flexibility in sustained cold, and a spring that's already near the end of its cycle count is more likely to snap on a frigid morning than a mild one. If your door is original to a house from the 80s or 90s, the spring has likely never been replaced.

Do you install new doors or only repair old ones?

Both. If a repair will reasonably extend the life of your current door, we'll say so. If the door's past that point - rusted track, cracked panels, an opener and spring both failing at once - we'll walk you through replacement options instead of patching something that's not worth patching.
